David Peterson

David Peterson is from Chicago and has been LDS all his life. His passion in life is teaching. He has a degree in Physics teaching from BYU, served a mission in Italy, and is finishing his MBA. He runs a natural health company, writes, performs, and creates crazy vegan recipes. He’s the author of the blog (Gay) Mormon Guy, and is autistic, bipolar, single, and (obviously) gay. David believes that no matter what or how many trials you face in this life, you can rely on God to help you find peace, hope, and happiness—regardless of your circumstances.

Wow, if we could all have such literal faith, know how much God reslly loves us, and trust him enough to put out lives unequivocably in his hands. Thank you David, for your message of hope.

Wow! I LOVE your positive attitude, David. Seems to me you have succeeded at turning your trials into strengths and I can certainly see how they have become blessings in your life... Isn't it incredible how our Heavenly Father knows EXACTLY what we need to learn and grow here in mortality? I LOVE quotes and one of my favorites is: "I never said it would be easy, only that it would be worth it" (or something like that! ;-) Keep reaching out to others and you will find that your pain and loneliness will be replaced with joy and purpose! Thanks for sharing and God b

Its nice to put a voice and face to someone who has been an angel in your life. Although you could could be my son, your wisdom etc. has saved my life. I have been walking in the garden for more than a year and have laid it all on the alter. It is difficult to explain my journey but have faced the challenge of SSA, Bi-polar, depression all my life. I remain single at 59 and truly know loneliness. Still trying to learn the lessons taught by my Mission President thirty years ago. I know as a nurse etc. that were truly blessed when we serve others.

David, Just needed to watch your voice again today. To you, Ty, and all the voices now and to come your such a blessing. I know this site is an answer to many years of prayer. Hope one day my voice will be added. My childhood, my fears, shame, etc. But My Heavenly Father has always blessed me, been with me in all my loneliness, depression, falls etc. Still learning that all is a blessing if I'm striving to be a disciple of Christ each day.

Thank you for sharing your story. I love the insight into the gospel you have. Your message and testimony of the gospel and how you described blessings and recipes - just amazingly insightful. Thank you.

David, you have truly inspired me. Like you, I am autistic, OCD, and have SSA. Your story showed me that we, as autistic people, don't have to live a life alone, if we are in line with what God want us to be and become. Thanks for a very touching story.
