Tyler Lefevor

Tyler’s life as a graduate student in counseling psychology involves lots of reading and balancing demands from professors with precious free time. Outside of school at the University of Miami, he loves running, deep conversations about life, being in nature, and serving in the church. Through questions and struggles, same sex attraction has helped Tyler deepen his faith and develop a more authentic relationship with God. After denying the reality of same sex attraction for most of his life, Tyler has found that accepting and understanding same sex attraction has helped him recognize the importance of connecting with others and supporting each other on our path back to Heavenly Father. As a lifelong member of the church, his secret wish is to one day be the ward chorister.

I don't know if you remember me Tyler, but I served with you in the Cherry Hill Mission. I just wanted to tell you that your story is incredible and thank you for having the faith to share it. All things work together for our good, and I can see that God is working great things through you! Thank you again, and I know you will have the best life!

You did an amazing job articulating yourself and your story was inspiring. It compels one to rethink and understand with compassion. Too much shame surrounds this issue. Too many topnotch lds men are facing this issue.

I wish I could have given you a big hug as Brother in Christ. During the time I served with you on the mission I knew you were strong and also tried to help other missionaries and those you were teaching to build their home on the foundation of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Stay Strong. Doubt not fear not.

Thanks for sharing! You are a great example. I can't imagine what it must be like to experience same sex attraction, but your faith to follow God regardless of whether you have all the answers is a great inspiration for me. At the very least, I can relate to not having all the answers. I think everybody faces times when, for whatever reason, they wonder if God really has a way prepared for them to be happy. I know I do. I think your story has the potential to help anyone who doubts or wonders what God has in store for them for any reason. You have the potential to do a lot of good in the world, probably much more than either you or I realize.
